CONTROL Resonant Release Guide: Price, Platforms, PC Specs and Early Access
Remedy Entertainment’s CONTROL Resonant launches worldwide on September 24, 2026. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store are included at launch. A Mac version through Steam and the App Store is planned for later in 2026.
The game is a sequel to 2019’s Control and is also designed as a new entry point. Jesse Faden is no longer the playable lead. Her brother, Dylan Faden, moves beyond the Oldest House into large areas of Manhattan warped by paranatural forces.
According to the official Remedy Entertainment release announcement and current store listings, U.S. prices are $59.99 for Standard and $69.99 for Digital Deluxe. PC requirements have changed in store listings during the preorder period, so prospective players should recheck Steam before installing.

Release date, editions and early access
The $59.99 Standard Edition contains the base game. The $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition adds a digital artbook, original soundtrack, an AWE mission outfit, an artifact and a starter resource bundle. Preorder bonuses include additional cosmetic and artifact items, with exact bundles varying by storefront.
The PS5 Digital Deluxe preorder includes 48-hour early access beginning September 22. That benefit is tied to a specific PlayStation edition. It should not be assumed to apply to Deluxe editions on Steam or Xbox without a matching statement on those stores.
The Steam language table lists full interface, audio and subtitle support for English. Korean has interface and subtitle support but not full audio. Fifteen languages are listed in total, with the precise combination of text and voice varying by language.
Current PC requirements
Steam’s English page displayed these requirements on September 22. Earlier cached or localized listings have shown 100 GB and different GPU names. The live store page for the purchasing account should take priority over a search snippet or an older guide.
Requirements do not specify a complete resolution, frame-rate and graphics preset target. An RTX 3060 Ti in the recommended row does not promise maximum settings at 4K and 60 frames per second. Independent launch testing will be needed to measure ray tracing, upscaling, shader behavior and frame pacing.
How the structure changes
Remedy says the Manhattan setting is divided into broad areas built to support optional missions, concealed encounters and exploration away from the main route. The final game will show whether these spaces feel like an open world or a set of connected districts, but the exploration scale clearly extends beyond the first game’s building-centered structure.
Dylan can navigate Gravity Anomalies that change orientation and conventional physics. A progression system lets players shape how his abilities develop. The meaningful test will be whether different choices produce distinct combat approaches rather than a single optimal upgrade path.
The signature mechanical shift is the Aberrant, a shape-changing melee weapon. It can move between forms such as a heavy two-handed hammer and fast dual blades, combined with environmental attacks, elemental abilities and Dylan’s paranatural powers. The intended rhythm is different from simply repeating Jesse’s gun-oriented Service Weapon.
Where the story begins
Dylan enters Manhattan after years of confinement by the Federal Bureau of Control as the crisis breaches the Oldest House. The containment order Jesse established has broken down, the Bureau is losing control and she cannot be found. Dylan has to confront the spreading force while searching for his sister and deciding what to do with the power created by his past.
Remedy presents the game as a continuation of the first story that can also introduce the series to first-time players. Knowledge of Jesse, Dylan, the FBC, the Hiss and the Oldest House will add context, but the new setting and protagonist are intended to support newcomers. Players who value narrative continuity may still benefit from a concise recap of the first game.
Choosing a platform
PlayStation 5
The PS5 Digital Deluxe preorder is the only edition in the official listings with the 48-hour advance-access benefit. The store also identifies PS5 Pro enhancements, DualSense vibration and trigger effects. Buyers should decide whether two earlier days and the digital extras are worth the $10 difference.
Xbox Series X|S
Both consoles are part of the September 24 launch. Resolution, frame-rate modes and the difference between Series X and Series S should be checked in launch analysis. Store-specific bonuses should be verified rather than inferred from PlayStation terms.
PC
PC offers the widest range of graphics and input settings, but results vary with drivers and hardware combinations. The listed 120 GB should not be treated as all the free space needed: patching and temporary installation files can require additional headroom.
Mac
Mac is not in the first launch wave. Remedy says a version will follow later in 2026 through Steam and the App Store. Supported Apple Silicon generations, memory requirements and the exact date still need a later announcement.
